All I Want This Holiday is a Grand Piano

Published December 19, 2014

Well, we all may not receive a grand piano this holiday season, but Summit High School’s wish and need for one was granted recently thanks to Dave Robbins of the music group Blackhawk.

The 7.5 foot grand piano was delivered on December 10 and students and staff alike were thrilled with the new addition to their music room.

“It is hard to put into words what the addition of this grand piano will do for the choral department at Summit,” said Summit High Choir Director Jenna Elsberry. “Many students will be able to enjoy it and make beautiful music with it for years to come.”

The piano was a surprise to the students; they knew that it was coming, but the didn’t know when it was coming.

“My students were absolutely thrilled,” said Elsberry. “As the piano was being delivered, their faces were priceless.”

The piano will be used in rehearsal and performances. The school is set up in such a way that Elsberry will be able to roll it into the auditorium from her classroom for each and every concert.
