Academic All-Star – Winstead Elementary

Fifth grader Aubrey Cheek is Winstead Elementary School’s Academic All-Star for the 2015-16 school year.

Teachers and administrators say Aubrey is a well-rounded student who serves as a model of good behavior.

“Aubrey is an Academic All-Star because she tries her best and goes above and beyond what is expected of her,” said principal Kathy Wells. “She is helpful to classmates and respectful to adults. Aubrey is one of our quiet heroes. She is a leader by example.”

Aubrey says she loves her teachers and her classes, especially social studies. When she’s not in school, Aubrey takes dance lessons, volunteers at church and is active in Girl Scouts. She also loves spending time with her family.

Aubrey says she’s excited to attend Page Middle in the fall, but she will miss the wonderful staff at Winstead.
