Academic All-Star – Nolensville Elementary

Published April 2, 2015

Nolensville Elementary School’s Academic All-Star is a sweet and caring student who arrives at school each morning with a smile on her face.

“We’re happy to announce Madison Snowden as the recipient of the 2015 Academic All-Star Award for Nolensville Elementary,” said Principal Paula Waits. “Madison always puts forth her best effort in all the subject areas. Her reading has improved each year, but especially this year in fifth grade. Madison has worked so hard to be a good student over the past several years and it really shows.”

Madison moved to Nolensville Elementary in third grade and made a good first impression with her teacher.

“I just loved having Madison in my class,” said Madison’s third grade teacher Jane Lauer. “She always came to school ready and willing to tackle any kind of assignment. In fact, Madison’s smile was infectious because her smile caused me to have a big smile.”

Teachers say Madison is the type of student who sets her own goals and works relentlessly to achieve them.

“She has really grown in my class this year,” said fifth grade teacher Rachel VanNote. “She loves to do literature circles and talk with her classmates about the stories we read. She’s a very hard worker who isn’t afraid to try.”

Although she loves to read, Madison says her favorite subject is science. And while she credits her teachers with much of her success at Nolensville, Madison admits that being named an Academic All-Star is quite an accomplishment.

“It means a lot to win this award,” said Madison. “I feel very special.”
