Academic All-Star – Longview Elementary
Published April 2, 2015
Fifth grader Emma Meinhardt is the kind of student who takes responsibility for her learning and always puts forth her best effort. So it’s no surprise that administrators at Longview Elementary School selected her as the school’s Academic All-Star.
“Emma is a hard working student that continues to give 110 percent in her academic studies,” said Principal Dr. Gabrina Charles. “Likewise, Emma is a great role model and student leader in representing her fifth grade class.”
Emma has attended Longview since kindergarten and says the teachers are the best.
“I have two teachers this year,” said Emma. “Mrs. Kofahl is always funny, and Mrs. Moss always has a smile on her face.”
Although her two favorite subjects are math and science, Emma says her real passion is art.
“I want to be an art teacher when I grow up,” said Emma. “I like art because I get to draw anything that I put my mind to.”
Emma says she’ll continue to work hard as she heads to Heritage Middle next year. But for now, she’s going to enjoy the celebration that comes with being named an Academic All-Star.
“I was shocked to find out I won this award,” said Emma. “It feels amazing!”
