Academic All-Star – Brentwood High

Published December 4, 2014

Brentwood High School Senior Rebecca Allen has been named her school’s Academic All-Star for the 2014-15 school year.

Administrators say the 17-year-old was chosen for her cheerful demeanor, strong work ethic and will to succeed.

“Rebecca approaches every task with a positive and optimistic attitude,” said Brentwood High School Principal Kevin Keidel. “She sees the best in everyone and always has a smile on her face. I am proud to call her our Academic All-Star.”

Rebecca says she’s excited to enter college next year, but she’ll be sad to leave behind the incredible teachers and staff at BHS.

“The teachers here really care about their students,” said Rebecca. “My favorite teacher is Sue Mounts who teaches English Honors. I feel like you can always go to her about anything, and she really cares.”

When she’s not in school, Rebecca spends much of her time dancing. She even traveled to Belize over the summer to perform with a music and dance group. It’s a passion Rebecca hopes will one day be part of a career.

“I’ve been thinking about studying business, broadcasting and music in college,” said Rebecca, who knows the key to success is hard work and determination. If you put forth the effort then you’re going to have a good future. I guess wanting to have a better future motivates me every day.”
