WCS Names New Assistant Superintendent of HR

Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney is happy to announce the hiring of Rebecca Owens as the district’s new Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources.

Owens most recently served as ‎Director of Benefits & Employee Relations at Knox County Schools. She says she’s excited to be making the move to Middle Tennessee.

“I worked in Middle Tennessee previous to working for Knox County Schools,” said Owens. “My husband and I love the area. Williamson County is a great place to work; it’s a great place for children to be educated. I have two children and I look forward to getting them enrolled for the fall.”

Owens received her bachelor’s degree in public administration from the University of Tennessee and her law degree from Memphis State University. She began her duties with the district March 10.
