Williamson County Schools can add a new first to its list of accomplishments. According to the Tennessee Department of Education's 2013 State Report Card, WCS earned all A's in both achievement and growth for the first time in the history of the district.

"This is the result of the hard work of teachers, principals, students and parents," said Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney. "While we're proud, we're not satisfied. We want to do better, and we'll continue to focus on what’s best for the student and remain committed to local reform efforts.”

The State Report Card provides a profile of each school district throughout the state, using performance on various standardized assessments and collected statistics to award grades. Below are some of the district highlights from the 2013 Report Card:

  • All A’s in 3-8 Academic Achievement
  • All A’s in 4-8 Value-Added Growth
  • ACT Composite of 23.4, topping all districts in every subject area
  • Best-in-state 40% attaining all four ACT College Readiness Benchmarks
