Ultimate Guide to Food Services

Published August 2, 2013

The WCS Food Service Department is gearing up for the start of another wonderful school year. WCS will operate 39 kitchens within Williamson County, offering breakfast and lunch to students on a daily basis.

The Food Service Department has a staff of 240 employees serving approximately 25,000 meals a day. Each kitchen is staffed with a Cafe Supervisor and several Cafe Workers.

WCS participates in the Offer vs. Serve Program for all grade levels. This is a USDA program which allows students to choose what they would like to eat.

The meals are broken down into components and the students are required to take a certain number of components to have the meal qualify as a lunch or breakfast. CLICK HERE to learn more about the different components that make up a school meal.
