Top-Notch Schools Propel Franklin onto Magazine's List of 10 Best Towns for Families

Published July 11, 2014

A national publication recently named Franklin one of its 10 Best Towns for Families, citing the city's stellar schools, affordable housing and family-friendly atmosphere. The article is featured in the August issue of Family Circle.

The magazine used a New York City research firm to assemble a list of 4,200 cities and towns with populations between 10,000 and 150,000. The list was then narrowed to 1,400 localities with a high concentration of households with median incomes between $50,000 and $100,000. Using its own criteria, Family Circle ranked the localities from top to bottom and selected the 10 winners from the highest-rated towns.

According to the magazine, Franklin was chosen, in part, because of its top-notch schools. The article specifically mentions Franklin High as being the first in the state to offer the International Baccalaureate program.
