TCAP Delay Spurs Special Called Board Meeting

Published May 21, 2014

The Williamson County Board of Education will meet in special session Friday, May 23, at 11 a.m. in the auditorium of the Administrative Complex to address the State Department of Education's delayed release of TCAP scores to school districts.

On Tuesday, at 1:11 p.m. Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney was notified by the State Department of Education through an email that TCAP achievement test scores would not be returned to WCS by the deadline the district had been given. State law requires test scores to be a portion of the student’s final grades in third through eighth grades.

The Board will consider options at the May 23 meeting. Board action will be shared with families through the phone notification and email system.
