Students Thank Ladders to HOPE Donors

Student leaders who have been active participants in the Williamson County Schools Ladders to HOPE program had the opportunity to thank those who helped make the program possible November 4 at the Franklin Theatre.
Summit High Senior Jacob Bell served as Master of Ceremonies for the evening where seniors from across the district shared their goal of helping their peers reach a 21 on the ACT and earning a HOPE scholarship.
“I was so proud of our students,” said Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney. “They put together the evening’s events and showed our community leaders why Williamson County Schools is a special place.”
Attendees viewed a student created video they produced over the summer along with a story about the program that was featured in InFocus earlier this year. In addition, Centennial High graduate and Miss Tennessee Shelby Thompson talked about how the HOPE scholarship helped her achieve her college goals.
As for the student leaders who helped make Ladders to HOPE a reality, they say they are already beginning to see positive results.
"This program has impacted my school significantly," said Franklin High School Senior Jimmy Wester. "We have been brought together as a Franklin community to help each other reach a common goal."
