Student Spotlight Awards are given to Williamson County students who placed first in state or national competitions. Each Student Spotlight award winner is recognized before the School Board at its monthly meeting. Listed below are the district's Student Spotlight Award winners for the month of March.

Brentwood Wrestler Wins First Place at State Wrestling Tournament

Brentwood High School student Luke Hamilton won first place at the TSSAA State Wrestling Tournament in the AAA-145 pound category. His coach is Joe Blair.

 

Brentwood High Media Students Win THSPA Award for Best Online Video

Brentwood High School students Mary Margaret Davis, Thomas Wolf and Cole Hubbard won the Tennessee High School Press Association award for Best Online Video. The THSPA is an orgainzation that's dedicated to to rewarding and promoting excellence in high school student publications. Their teacher is Ronnie Adcock.

 

Brentwood High Media Students Win THSPA Award for Best PSA

Brentwood High School students Apakorn Burapharat, Ben Sherrill and Sami Edgerton won the Tennessee High School Press Association award for Best PSA. The THSPA is an orgainzation that's dedicated to to rewarding and promoting excellence in high school student publications. Their teacher is Ronnie Adcock.

 

Brentwood High Wins THSPA Award for Best Sports Coverage

Brentwood High School students Hamza Khalid, Jake Fisher, Ben Sherrill, Apakorn Burapharat, Hannah Feldhacker, Conner Holmes, Andrew Hughes, Stephen Hart, Dakota Payne and Katie Hart won the Tennessee High School Press Association award for Best Sports Coverage of a Live Event. Their teacher is Ronnie Adcock.

Brentwood High School's media program recently won the Tennessee High School Press Association award for TV Station of the Year for their work on WBHS-9. Centennial High Media Students Win THSPA Award for Best Music Video

Centennial High School students Josh Katina, Patrick Mills and Caleb Simons won the Tennessee High School Press Association award for Best Music Video. Fairview High Student Elected Sergeant-at-Arms for TN Technology Student Association

Fairview High’s Blake McKinney was recently elected Sergeant-at-Arms for the 2014-15 school year for the Tennessee Technology Student Association. The TSA is an organization that supports students and teachers who are dedicated to the advancement of technology engineering education. Blake's teacher is Kevin Sizemore.

 

Franklin High Wrestler Wins First Place at State Tournament

Franklin High School student Patrick Dooley won first place at the TSSAA State Wrestling Tournament in the AAA-160 pound category. His coach is Frank Barbrie.

 

Independence High Wrestler Wins First Place at State Tournament

Independence High School student Dillan Friesner won first place at the TSSAA State Wrestling Tournament in the AAA-106 pound category. His coach is Jared Grindstaff.

Page High School students Chase Moon, Ben Wilt, Carson Stafford, Camron Midgette, Lillian Powell and Ben Weaver won the award for Manufacturing Prototype at the Tennessee Technology Student Association competition. Their teachers are Beth Foreman and Jimmy Baker.

Ravenwood High Student Places First at Computational Linguistics Olympiad

Ravenwood’s Christopher Nicastro received first place in the Tennessee North American Computational Linguistics Olympiad. He is one of two students representing Tennessee at the International Linguistics Olympiad. His teacher is Anna Crombie.

Ravenwood High School students Zach Glick, Simon Lowen, Jordan Widjaja and Sean Yao won first place at the MTSU Linguistics Olympiad. Their teacher is Anna Crombie.
