The purpose of this section is to answer any questions parents, teachers or community members might have regarding the school district and to set the record straight in regards to any rumors that might be circulating.

If you have a question or have heard a rumor that you would like for us to address, simply SEND US your questions and we will respond to them in upcoming issues of InFocus. Below are some of the questions we have received since our last issue.

Is there any chance that elementary students will be able to have "late start" Mondays in the future? I know the teachers would enjoy the professional development time and the kids could do test prep, multiplication drills, etc.

Oak View Elementary School will pilot Power Mondays during the 2014-15 school year to determine whether or not “late start” Mondays are beneficial to elementary teachers and students. Oak View will follow the same Power Monday schedule as our middle and high schools next year.

What's the latest on the plan to build a new elementary school in Spring Hill?

The district is in the process of looking for land to build a new elementary school in the Spring Hill area. According to the district's 5-Year Capital Outlay Plan, the school is currently scheduled to open in the fall of 2016. That plan is updated annually.
