New Principal Announcements

Fairview Elementary School
Sunset Elementary Assistant Principal Brent Oakley has been named Principal of Fairview Elementary School. Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney made the announcement June 25.
“Mr. Oakley’s knowledge and experience will serve the Fairview community well," said Looney. "He is a proven leader who will continue to build on the excellence that is already in place at Fairview."
Oakley is beginning his eighth year with Williamson County Schools, five years teaching fifth grade at Scales Elementary and two years as Assistant Principal at Sunset Elementary. Prior to that time, he was a third grade teacher at Richardsville Elementary in Kentucky.
"I have heard so many wonderful things about the Fairview school community and am both humbled and eager to become a part of it," said Oakley. "I look forward to partnering with students, parents, staff and community members as we begin the upcoming school year."
Oakley earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Western Kentucky University and his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership & Administration from Middle Tennessee State University.
Heritage Elementary School
Nolensville Elementary Assistant Principal Shannon Robertson has been named Principal of Heritage Elementary School. Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney made the announcement June 30.
“Shannon has done an excellent job at Nolensville Elementary,” said Looney. “She has been instrumental in the success of the school, and I know her leadership skills and classroom experience will help build on the excellence already in place at Heritage Elementary.”
"I have loved serving the Nolensville community for the past six years, and it will always hold a special place in my heart," said Robertson. "But I am excited to begin serving the Heritage community in the coming weeks. I look forward to working with the students, parents, teachers, staff and the surrounding community to continue the great work at Heritage Elementary School in the upcoming school year."
Robertson received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Murray State University; her Master's Degree in Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary; and her Administrative Licensure in Educational Leadership from Lipscomb University.
Robertson has 16 years of experience teaching kindergarten through fifth grade, four of those at Nolensville Elementary. She has served as assistant principal at Nolensville Elementary for the past two years.
Longview Elementary School
Crockett Elementary Assistant Principal Dr. Gabrina Charles has been named principal of Longview Elementary School. Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney made the announcement June 4.
“Dr. Charles is a student-centered educator who will bring a high level of energy and excitement for learning to Longview,” said Looney. “She has a tremendous work ethic, and I believe she is a perfect fit for that school community.”
Charles is beginning her seventh year with Williamson County Schools. Prior to that time, she was the assistant principal at Harpeth Valley Elementary School in the Metropolitan Nashville Public School District for four years. She taught physical education at Harpeth Valley for nine years, and she has taught physical education and third grade as well.
“The past six years at Crockett will always have a special place in my heart,” said Charles. “But I am thrilled to be joining the Longview school community. I will become official later this month, and my first goal is to get to know the faculty, staff, students and parents as soon as possible.”
Charles earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education and Recreation from Trevecca Nazarene University; her Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and administrative licensure requirements from Trevecca Nazarene University; and her Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership from Northcentral University.
