Governor's Foundation for Health & Wellness Visits WCS

Published November 22, 2013

Members of Governor Haslam's Foundation for Health and Wellness paid a recent visit to Williamson County. Foundation President and Chief Executive Officer Rick Johnson joined several others from the State as they toured Oak View Elementary School in Franklin.

"Williamson County Schools has a wonderful Food Service Department," said Johnson. "This gives us an opportunity to see an elementary school that is really focused on good nutrition for kids.”

The Governor's Foundation for Health and Wellness is part of the state's Healthier Tennessee initiative, which encourages Tennesseans to lead healthier lives, stay physically active and abstain from tobacco.

"A really important group of Tennesseans are our children," said Johnson. "They get a lot of their food and their physical activity at school, so we’re here to talk about how we as a foundation can help the good work that’s already being done in Tennessee.”
