Published October 25, 2013

The Franklin High School Marching Band has a new trophy to add to its collection. On October 19, the band took home first place at the 2013 Music for All Bands of America Regional Championship in Powder Springs, Georgia.

Competing against 19 bands from seven states, Franklin earned a final score of 87.7. In addition to winning the top prize, the Rebels received awards for Outstanding Music and Outstanding Visual Effect.

This is the band's second big win of the season. Last month, Franklin took top honors in the Lower Antioch Experience Marching Band Invitational at Antioch High School.

Band members hope to carry on their winning ways October 26 as they compete against 16 bands from across the state to defend their Grand Champion title at the Contest of Champions at MTSU.

The Franklin Band is led by David Aydelott, Michael Holland and Monica Zsolt.
