Elementary Students Lend Helping Hand to Needy

In addition to lessons in math, science and language arts, students at Fairview Elementary School are learning all about the power of helping others.
The school recently completed a food drive in which students collected more than 4,400 items for the Helping Hands Charity in Fairview. Helping Hands helps provide food, clothing and other resources to families in need.
For two weeks, classes competed against each other for the right to display the Can Man poster. The students not only collected the food items but many of them also worked to sort, organize and box up the food as it arrived each day.
