Construction Update

Published November 8, 2013

From auditoriums to HVAC units, construction crews are hard at work on numerous projects throughout the district. Below you will find a complete list of the county's current construction projects.

Brentwood High School Auditorium

The Williamson County Schools Facilities and Construction Department is reviewing the final design development documents with the architect for the new auditorium at Brentwood High. The project is now in the "construction document phase." Construction documents are scheduled to be completed by December 1 with a bid date scheduled for approximately December 12. The documents have been submitted to the regulatory agencies for final review and approvals.

Brentwood Middle School - Phase 2

Now that renovations are complete on Brentwood Middle School's auditorium, the project is in its final stage which includes an HVAC replacement and interior renovations that will bring the building up to current fire codes. The contractor will begin actual work during winter and spring breaks. Once school is out for the year, crews will work full time to complete the project before the start of the 2014-15 school year.

Centennial High School Auditorium

Construction fences have been erected at Centennial High School as crews begin work on the school's new auditorium. Due to the construction it was necessary to change traffic patterns and parking for students, staff and visitors. The new traffic flows have been established and appear to be working well. The estimated date of completion for the new auditorium is Summer 2014.

Centennial High School Baseball Field Renovation

This project is currently under design and the design process should be completed in late November. The project will then be advertised for construction bids in December.

Fairview Middle School Auditorium

Competitive bids for construction of a new Fairview Middle School auditorium were received November 7 at the Central Office in Franklin. Following a review of the bids, the lowest and best bid was awarded to Kerry G. Campbell, Inc. The contract for construction will be awarded by November 12 with a "notice to proceed with the work" included with the contract. The allowable time for construction is 270 calendar days.

New Nolensville Elementary/Middle School & High School Projects

The design teams for each school are moving forward with the goal of having each ready for bidding in early spring of 2014. According to the district's Five Year Capital Outlay Plan, the high school is scheduled for completion in Fall 2016; the K-8 school is scheduled to open in Fall 2015. The Capital Outlay Plan is reviewed annually by both the Board of Education and the County Commission and is subject to change each year.

Woodland Middle School Auditorium

In addition, foundations for the new auditorium are 80 percent complete and underground utilities are 30 percent complete. The estimated date of completion for this project is Summer 2014.
