Published January 31, 2014
Brentwood High School Senior Joyce Kang is one of 40 finalists for the Intel Science Talent Search. This prestigious and highly selective competition challenges high school students to conduct innovative and unexplored research possibilities.
This is much more than the stereotypical high school project; Joyce’s project explored the development of a high-performance hybrid supercapacitor. As one of the finalists from more than 1,800 applicants, Joyce will attend the final round of judging and compete for more than $630,000 in prizes, including the $100,000 grand prize.
The final judging process will take place over a week in early March in Washington D.C. Joyce is the only finalist to come from the state of Tennessee.
