Below is a list of recent accomplishments by Williamson County students and staff in the areas of academics, athletics and the arts. They are listed in alphabetical order according to school.
Centennial High Band Earns High Marks at Marching Invitational
The Centennial High School Band traveled to Waverly Central High School recently to compete in the Mid-West Marching Invitational. With a total of 16 bands at the event, the Marching Cougars performed one of their best shows in the season. Below is a list of the awards they won at the competition.

Franklin Soccer Team Wins District Title
The Franklin High School Lady Rebel soccer team won the District 11AAA championship October 17 by defeating Ravenwood 1-0. After two 10 minute overtime periods, Delaney Griffin ripped a shot over the Ravenwood goalkeeper to win the game.
Grassland Middle Golfer Hits Hole-in-One & Wins County Championship
Grassland Middle School eighth grader Michael Shears had a dream come true recently when he hit his first ever hole-in-one during the Williamson County Middle School Golf Tournament at Spencer Creek.
The shot came on the second hole and helped Shears shoot a two under par 64 to win the individual county championship.
“It’s been a great three years playing golf out here, representing my school and making so many friends," said Shears. "For it to end it with a victory and a hole in one is just amazing.”
Heritage Elementary Takes 1st Place at Grey Ghost 5K
With more than 75 students participating, Heritage Elementary School won first place in the participation competition at this year's Grey Ghost 5K. The event was held October 19 in Spring Hill.
Page High Principal One of Four Finalists for Women in School Leadership Award
Page High School Principal Dr. Andrea Anthony is one of four finalists for the School Superintendents Association's Women in School Leadership Award.
The award is designed to recognize exceptional leadership of active, front-line female administrators who are making a difference in the lives of students.
Candidates are judged based on leadership in meeting the learning needs of students, personal and organizational communication strength, constant professional improvement of knowledge and skills, and active community involvement. The final award recipients will be announced in February.
Page High Band Competes at BOA Regional Championship
The Page High School Band had an impressive showing October 19 at the 2013 Music for All Bands of America Regional Championship in Powder Springs, Georgia. Despite being the smallest band at the competition, Page High finished in seventh place out of 20 bands from seven states. The Page High Band is led by Matt Emerson.
Pearre Creek Brother & Sister Compete at AAU National Junior Olympics
A Williamson County brother and sister recently traveled with their family to Detroit, Michigan to compete at the AAU National Junior Olympics.
Pearre Creek Elementary School fourth grader Parker Sines qualified to participate in the 1500m Racewalk, Turbo Javelin and 4x400 Relay. Parker placed second in the 1500m Racewalk by setting a new personal record of 8 minutes, 42.61 seconds.
Parker's sister, Kayla, is a third grader at Pearre Creek. She competed in the Triathlon, the 100m dash and the 400m dash. Kayla set new personal records in all of her events. During the Triathlon event, she placed first in the high jump portion with a height of 3 feet 7.25 inches and placed fifth in the country overall with a score of 732 points.
Ravenwood Students Named to Junior Classical League Honor Society
The following Ravenwood High School students have been named to the National Junior Classical League Latin Honor Society: Ozi Boms, Reece Boyd, Andrew Duncan, Heather Hernandez, Gene Li, Simon Lowen, Rhea Manohar, Megan McCarter, Kevin McDonald, Grady McGinnity, Bailey Page and Jennifer Walker.
RHS Soccer Players Earn Honors at District Tourney
Several Ravenwood High School soccer players received individual recognitions December 17 at the district tournament. Karlie Paschall received the award for Most Valuable Offensive Player, and Audrie Sanderson received the award for Most Valuable Goalie. In addition, MacKenzie Firek, Alex Holmes, Dayna Hood, Lindsey Todd and Andi Williams were named to the All-District Team.
Ravenwood Band Recognized at Recent Competition
The Ravenwood High School Marching Band competed with some of the top bands in the state October 19 at the US Bands Tennessee State Championship at Tennessee Tech University. RHS received first in percussion and second in its class. The band will compete again October 26 in the Contest of Champions at MTSU.
Summit High Band Wins Big at Competition
The Summit High School Marching Band unveiled its brand new uniforms at its first competition on October 5. The marching Spartans traveled to Portland, Tennessee to participate in Bandapalooza. The band finished first place in its classification with the drum line and color guard finishing second and third respectively.
