The Williamson County Fair's Pageant is a 'no glitz' pageant, which means contestants in the seven to nine age group are not allowed to wear strapless dresses, high heels, make-up and glitzy pageant wear with rhinestones or sequins.

Oak View Student Co-Authors Book for Children
She's only 10 years-old but Oak View Elementary School fifth grader Ali Rollason is already a published author. Ali recently co-authored a nonfiction book for children and teens about her summer journey traveling across Borneo with her family.
The book follows Ali as she goes on the adventure of a lifetime and experiences everything from living in a tree house and getting bed bugs, to discovering an island of lost children and scuba diving with turtles bigger than herself.
Over the summer, Ali appeared on several national travel radio shows to promote her book. She even received congratulatory tweets from Jeff Probst, the host of the "Survivor" reality show, and Peter Greensberg of CBS news.
Sunset Middle Football Team Travels to KY for Jamboree
Members of the Sunset Middle School football team recently traveled north of the state border to participate in the Lone Oak Jamboree. To raise money for the trip, more than 50 players participated in two window washes at the Nolensville area Sonic Drive-In. The students raised more than $1,500 which was enough to charter a bus and feed the team twice. While at the jamboree, Sunset Middle competed against teams from Murphysboro, Illinois; Christian County, Kentucky; and Graves County, Kentucky.
