Edmondson Elementary - Pierce Dudek
Teachers describe Edmondson Elementary School fifth grader Pierce Dudek as a well-rounded student who works hard in the classroom and is always respectful to his peers. It's those qualities that led teachers and staff to select him as the school's Academic All-Star for the 2013-14 school year.
"Pierce comes to school every day committed to working hard and doing his best," said Principal Julie Sparrow. "Pierce has overcome many obstacles in order to achieve success. He does not use these obstacles as excuses, but he works to reach his potential and do his best in every situation."
Having attended EES since kindergarten, Pierce says he's excited to move to Brentwood Middle next year, but he will miss the teachers at Edmondson.
"Edmondson is a great school," said Pierce. "The teachers here are really good because they know how to make learning fun."
Pierce says his favorite subject is math because he enjoys working with numbers. In his free time, Pierce likes to practice archery and ride his bike. He is also a member of Edmondson's green team and chess team.
When he grows up, Pierce says he would like to be an inventor so that he could develop new products that will help the human race. In the meantime, he promises to continue working hard in class and doing his best each and every day.
"School is important to me because I want to get good grades so I can reach my goals," said Pierce. "It's not going to be easy so I know that I have to do well in school if I want to become an inventor."
