2013-14 WCS Employees of the Year

Williamson County Schools honored its 2013-14 Employees of the Year January 30 at a special ceremony in Franklin.

Teachers of the Year

Each school selected a teacher to be recognized, and from these, the district selected a system-wide Teacher of the Year at the elementary, middle and high school levels.

Sunset Elementary School Fourth Grade Teacher Karyn Bailey was selected as the Elementary School Teacher of the Year; Brentwood Middle School Language Arts Teacher Lane Thompson was named the Middle School Teacher of the Year; and Franklin High School Math Teacher Tracy Harmon was selected as the High School Teacher of the Year.

Franklin High School Math Teacher Tracy Harmon was named the High School Teacher of the Year for WCS.
The system-wide Teachers of the Year were selected by committees with membership guidelines established by the State. They will be eligible to receive regional honors which will be announced in the spring. If they are selected in the region, they will be eligible for statewide honors. The State's Teachers of the Year will be announced in the fall.

Classified Employees of Year

The district also honored its Classified Employees of the Year, which included everyone from teacher assistants to maintenance workers. Employees were nominated for the honor by their individual school or department.

This year's winners are Fairview Elementary School Special Education Teacher Assistant Taniya Nolen, Spring Station Middle School Bookkeeper Kim Parrish and Alternative Learning Center Special Education Teacher Assistant Helon Brakebill.
