Published February 7, 2013

Williamson County middle school math, science and technology teachers and administrators participated in the Mobile Technology for Learning, Teaching and Leading in STEM Conference February 7.

The daylong virtual conference focused on the four key areas of pedagogy, technology integration, leadership and digital citizenship. Sessions were conducted by national leaders in the use of mobile devices for learning. Participants exchanged ideas and posed questions throughout the virtual sessions to learn from leaders and peers across the country and expand their knowledge of innovative practices.

“Williamson County teachers continue to learn new and innovative ways to support students in their use of technology for learning," said WCS Instructional Technology Coordinator Belinda Moss. "We are privileged to have received a grant from Verizon that allows us to be part of current research focused on implementing mobile devices and to have teachers, administrators and tech coaches use available research to improve instruction in Williamson County."

The conference was funded as part of the Verizon Innovative Learning Schools grant in collaboration with the International Society for Technology in Education. All WCS middle schools are designated as innovative learning schools.
