WCS Student Participates in Inaugural Parade

While most of us watched Monday's Presidential Inauguration from home, one Williamson County student got the unique opportunity to be part of the festivities in Washington D.C.
Sunset Middle School Eighth Grader Jared Stevens and his family were invited to participate in the Presidential Inaugural Parade with a group called Canine Companions for Independence. Jared, who has cerebral palsy, received his service dog from the organization.
You may recall, Jared received national fame last month when a video of his first wrestling match went viral, receiving more than 500,000 views on YouTube. The attention led to appearances on Good Morning America and Headline News.
While the past six weeks have been hectic, Jared says he enjoyed getting to be part of such a special occasion in our nation's capital.
“It was a long day but it was fun being behind the scenes for the parade," said Jared. "We got police escorts to the parade and got to go the Pentagon for the security screening."
