WCS Represented Well at TN Thespian Conference

Williamson County Schools was well represented at this past weekend's Tennessee State Thespian Conference. With over 900 thespians from across the state in attendance, WCS students won two of the three scholarships offered at the event.
In addition, Brentwood High School was asked to perform their full-length production of You Can't Take It With You at the conference.
Musical Theater Scholarship
Page High School Student Delaney Amatrudo won the Robert E. Crain Musical Theatre Scholarship. Each year, $1,000 is awarded to an outstanding student who desires to further his or her fine arts education in college or in a specialized academy.
The criteria upon which the scholarship is judged is based upon performance, interview, arts involvement and academic achievement. Each applicant is asked to sing one Broadway show tune and present one acting monologue for the judges.
Acting Scholarship
Independence High School Senior Kit Bulla (pictured below) won the $1,000 Tully Daniel Memorial Acting Scholarship. Bulla was one of 20 students from around the state who auditioned for the scholarship, which is given to a senior who wants to further his or her fine arts education in college.
As part of the application process, each student performs two contrasting monologues for the judges who then award the scholarship based on performance, interview, arts involvement and academic achievement.
Tennessee Theatre President
Independence High School Junior Landon Meldrum (pictured below) has been named Executive Board President of the Tennessee State Thespian Society for the 2013-14 school year.
