Williamson County Schools Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney has named Williamson Medical Center EMS Operations Supervisor Mike Fletcher as the District Safety and Security Director.

The Safety and Security Director position is a new one for the district, and Fletcher will work with schools and the district office to improve safety for students, employees and visitors using the all hazards approach by helping to develop, establish and enforce safety and security policies, accident prevention efforts, fire safety, emergency management, asset protection, parking control and traffic enforcement programs.

"I am excited to begin this new position with Williamson County Schools,” said Fletcher. “I look forward to enhancing the district’s ability to provide the safest and securest environment possible for our students and staff."

Fletcher has a diverse background in emergency services, spending the past 15 years in Williamson County. He has worked at Williamson Medical Center since 1998. In addition, he is a lieutenant with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Department, serving in that capacity since 2005. Fletcher is retired from the U.S. Army where he served with the 82nd Airborne Division.

“We are so pleased to have found a candidate with Mike’s background and knowledge,” said Looney. “He will truly be an asset to the district.”

Fletcher will begin his new role within the month.
