WCS Launches New App for Mobile Devices

There’s a new quick and easy way for parents, students, staff and community members to keep up to date with the latest school news and events! WCS is excited to announce the launch of a new mobile app that can be downloaded for free from the iTunes App Store or the Google Play Store.
"The WCS app will be a great mobile resource for our students and community," said WCS Instructional Technology Coordinator Belinda Moss. "The app pulls together key district information from four communication sources into one tool. Students can also use the app on their BYOT devices to record assignments and report concerns."
Some of the features include:
- View and share calendars of events
- Access maps
- View faculty and staff contact information
- See lunch menus for the day
- Access Parent Portal and online grade book system
- Get important documents
- Use a Virtual Assignment book
- Use a Tip Line to report concerns
- Read the latest issue of IN FOCUS
- Watch videos on WCSTube
- See bus routes
- Access the county’s Facebook and Twitter
Additional features that will soon be added include push notifications and the latest news and announcements.
To download the WCS app for free, go to the iTunes App Store or Google Play Store and search for Williamson County Schools. The Droid app requires Android 2.3 and up. The Apple app is compatible with the following devices and requires iOS 5.0 or later:
- iPhone 3GS
- iPhone 4 and 4s
- iPhone 5
- iPod touch (3rd, 4th, 5th generations)
- iPad
