WCS Educator Named Regional Teacher of the Year

Published March 7, 2013

Page High School Math Teacher Laurie Mauldin is this year's Mid-Cumberland Regional High School Teacher of the Year. Mauldin was selected for the honor among educators from more than a dozen school systems.

Mauldin began teaching at Page High School in 2004 and says she is inspired each and every day by the hard work of her students.

"I absolutely love seeing the 'light bulb' turn on in my students' eyes," said Mauldin. "Like most teachers, it is infectious to see a knowing smile spread across your student's face. The pride that students internalize because they 'got it' is priceless and those are the memories that carry you through each day."

Mauldin will now be considered for Teacher of the Year honors for the state of Tennessee, which will be announced in the fall.
