WCS Completes Nolensville Land Purchase

Williamson County Schools recently purchased 95 acres in Nolensville that will serve as the site for a new high school and K-8 school. The property is located between York and Nolensville roads.
A company called York Road LLC sold the land to WCS for approximately $4 million. The purchase includes a permanent right of way easement across another property so that the campus will have roadway access from both York and Nolensville roads.
WCS Deputy Superintendent and General Counsel Jason Golden says there is no timeline for determining zoning districts at this time.
"We traditionally approve new school zones in the year before a school opens," said Golden. "High schools have opened the first year to only sophomores and freshmen, with juniors and seniors finishing their careers at the original school."
According to the current Five Year Capital Plan, the projected completion date for the high school is Fall 2015. The K-8 school is projected for completion in Fall 2016.
