WCS Announces Winners of InFocus Promo Contest

Published March 7, 2013

The results are in and students from two local high schools have been named winners of this year's IN FOCUS Promo Contest!

Students in each of the district's eight high school media production programs were invited to produce promotional videos for IN FOCUS, the school district's email newsletter. After receiving nearly four dozen entries, a panel of judges selected the top three.

“I continue to be amazed at the creativity and talent of our media production students,” said Communications Director Carol Birdsong. “These projects were time consuming, and many of the students included their parents, grandparents and siblings in their vignettes. I appreciate the involvement and support of everyone who was involved in working with these students.”

On February 27, the WCS Communications Department traveled to the schools to surprise the winners of the contest. In recognition of this wonderful accomplishment, the winning schools received equipment for their media program which included new iMac computers and camcorders.

"With 41 schools in the district, we depend on our high school media programs to help us communicate our message to the public," said WCS Communications Specialist Cory Mason. "We are so proud of the fabulous work these students are doing, and we're excited to share their videos with the community."

Thank you to all of the students who participated in the IN FOCUS Promo Contest.
