Brentwood High School is once again getting national recognition. The Washington Post just ranked BHS as the #1 comprehensive high school in Tennessee, as well as the #3 public school in Tennessee.
The rankings are determined by their Challenge Index which is the ratio of the number of Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) tests given at a school each year, divided by the number of seniors who graduated that year.
“We are excited about the latest Washington Post rankings,” said BHS Principal Kevin Keidel. “It is national recognition for our students and our teachers for all of the hard work that put in on a daily basis. Having high expectations and taking rigorous courses has paid tremendous dividends for our students.”
The Washington Post ranked Brentwood High as the #34 Comprehensive High School in the United States and #142 public school in the United States.
In April, U.S. News and World Report ranked Brentwood High School as #4 in its 2013 list of America’s Best High Schools.
