TN Names Top Schools for Achievement and Growth

Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam made a surprise visit to Kenrose Elementary School in Brentwood August 27 to announce the state's 2011-12 Reward Schools.  The governor was joined by First Lady Crissy Haslam and Tennessee Department of Education Commissioner Kevin Huffman.

Under Tennessee's new accountability system, Reward Schools are the top five percent of schools in the state for annual growth and the top five percent for academic achievement.  Williamson County Schools had a total of nine schools that earned this distinction.  They include:

  • Bethesda Elementary - Performance & Progress
  • Brentwood High School – Performance
  • Franklin High School - Performance & Progress
  • Page High School - Performance & Progress 
  • Kenrose Elementary - Performance & Progress
  • Longview Elementary School - Performance & Progress 
  • Trinity Elementary – Performance 
  • Walnut Grove Elementary - Performance & Progress 
  • Westwood Elementary School – Performance
