Schools Receive Superior Awards of Excellence

Several Williamson County schools were recently honored at the Second Annual WCS Superintendent's Banquet. The event was funded entirely by donations and took place Thursday, August 2 at The Factory in Franklin with the purpose of thanking administrators for their dedication to the students of Williamson County.
Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney handed out several awards, including the Superior Award of Excellence in Academic Achievement. This award was given to the elementary, middle and high schools with the highest overall achievement scores across all measurable categories during the 2011-12 school year. The recipients were Clovercroft Elementary, Brentwood Middle and Ravenwood High.
Awards were also given to the elementary, middle and high schools with the highest academic growth scores during the 2011-12 school year. Those winners were Edmondson Elementary, Grassland Middle and Page High.
Clovercroft Wins Superior Award of Excellence in Academic Achievement for Elementary Schools
Clovercroft Elementary School received the Superior Award of Excellence in Academic Achievement for elementary schools August 2 at the Second Annual Superintendent's Banquet. Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney and WCS School Board Chairman Pat Anderson presented the trophy to Clovercroft Principal Dr. Laura LaChance.

Brentwood Middle Wins Superior Award of Excellence in Academic Achievement for Middle Schools
Brentwood Middle School received the Superior Award of Excellence in Academic Achievement for middle schools August 2 at the Second Annual Superintendent's Banquet. Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney and WCS School Board Chairman Pat Anderson presented the trophy to Brentwood Middle School Principal Bill Harlin.

Ravenwood Wins Superior Award of Excellence in Academic Achievement for High Schools
Ravenwood High School received the Superior Award of Excellence in Academic Achievement for high schools August 2 at the Second Annual Superintendent's Banquet. Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney and WCS School Board Chairman Pat Anderson presented the trophy to Ravenwood High School Principal Dr. Pam Vaden.

Edmondson Elementary Wins Superior Award of Excellence in Academic Growth for Elementary Schools
Edmondson Elementary School received the Superior Award of Excellence in Academic Growth for elementary schools August 2 at the Second Annual Superintendent's Banquet. Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney and WCS School Board Chairman Pat Anderson presented the trophy to Edmondson Elementary School Principal Julie Sparrow.

Grassland Middle Wins Superior Award of Excellence in Academic Growth for Middle Schools
Grassland Middle School received the Superior Award of Excellence in Academic Growth for middle schools August 2 at the Second Annual Superintendent's Banquet. Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney and WCS School Board Chairman Pat Anderson presented the trophy to Grassland Middle School Principal Dr. Lily Leffler.

Page High Wins Superior Award of Excellence in Academic Growth for High Schools
Page High School received the Superior Award of Excellence in Academic Growth for high schools August 2 at the Second Annual Superintendent's Banquet. Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney and WCS School Board Chairman Pat Anderson presented the trophy to Page High School Principal Dr. Andrea Anthony.
