SACC Inclement Weather Policy
Published December 13, 2012
If schools are closed due to inclement weather, WCS Superintendent Dr. Looney and his administration will make the determination whether to operate the School Aged Child Care (SACC) program.
WCS, along with the media will report if extended care (SACC) will be open or closed. An email will be sent to SACC families with an email address on file. Voicemail messages will be updated at the SACC office and each location when there are changes in hours of operation or closures. The SACC office phone number is 472-4719.
If open, SACC will operate at five locations from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. If a parent would like for their child to attend a location outside of their assigned area they should inform their site leader. The following locations will be open on inclement weather days:
- Crockett Elementary School (serving students from Crockett, Kenrose, and the Franklin/Brentwood area)
- Heritage Elementary School (serving students from the Spring Hill area)
- Longview Elementary School (serving students from the Spring Hill area)
- Trinity Elementary School (serving students from Clovercroft, College Grove, Oakview, Trinity and the Franklin area)
- Westwoood Elementary School (serving students from Westwood and the Fairview area).
The rate is $25 per day on inclement weather days. Students will need a sack lunch. An afternoon snack will be provided to students. If school opens late, SACC will open at 7 a.m. If school is dismissed early because of weather, SACC will operate at each SACC school from dismissal until 5 p.m.
Important Note
On days of inclement weather, WCS will use the term "extended care" to refer only to the SACC program. If WCS reports that "extended care" is closed, that only refers to the SACC program.
Parents whose children are enrolled in child care at one of the YMCA Fun Company locations will need to contact the YMCA for information regarding closures.
