Will my child be able to start school with a schedule and books if I have to wait until school starts to get a Parent Portal account in order to complete online student registration?

Students that were enrolled in WCS in 2012-2013 and return to WCS in 2013-14 will start school with a schedule and books. Parents can request a Parent Portal account at any time if they have all of the required information posted at https://wcs.schoolnet.com and follow the directions posted on the page.

After school starts, the account will be reviewed by administration for approval. When the account is approved, parents will be able to update student registration documents online. There is no penalty to a student if there is a delay in registration to obtain a Parent Portal account in the first few weeks of school.

How can I find the bus stop for my student?

Bus stop information will be made available on the district website later this month. We will make the announcement in IN FOCUS, as well as on our Facebook and Twitter pages once that information has been released.

I am a realtor and have clients looking to purchase a home in Brentwood zoned for Scales. My buyers have children in the Edmondson school zone currently. They are wondering if they move from within Brentwood can they leave their children at Edmondson? And for how long? They have resided in the county for 12 months. I know the deadline for out of zone approval was May 15, but what happens with a late summer move? Please let me know how to advise my clients?

According to Board Policy 1.703, students currently attending a school and who move out of their transportation zone and maintain residence within Williamson County may request out-of-zone approval through the out-of-zone principal to continue attendance in that school as long as they have lived in that zone for at least 12 consecutive months, and they provide their transportation.

Only the out of zone principal’s approval signature is required. Students who relocate within Williamson County during a school year but have not lived in the said transportation zone for more than 12 consecutive months may complete only that school year at the original school.
