Ravenwood Golf Teams Win Regional Title

September 19, 2012, is a day Ravenwood High School Golf Coach Daniel Hollandsworth won't soon forget. Not only did his boys and girls golf teams win the region championship, but he and his wife, Laura, also welcomed their first child into the world.
Hollandsworth's daughter was born early that morning, so while he and Laura were getting to know their brand new bundle of joy, the Ravenwood golf teams were competing in the Region 6-AAA Tournament at Champion's Run Golf Course in Eagleville.
The Ravenwood boys' team defeated Brentwood to win the title by one stroke. Ravenwood student Hunter Howell earned first place among the boys, while Davis Baxter finished fourth. Not to be outdone, the girls' team also won, with Ravenwood's Natalie Asensio finishing first among the girls.
Hollandsworth never made it to the tournament but received text updates throughout the event. He even managed to meet up with his team for a quick celebration later in the day.
"Wednesday was, without question, the best day of my life," said Hollandsworth. "Madison's birth was amazing. I could not ask for any more than a healthy baby and wife. I got an extra present with two victories in the region golf tournament. I am one very lucky daddy and coach."
