Pilot Program to Track School Visitors

Published July 19, 2013

Starting this year, three Williamson County schools will pilot a new method of managing visitors within the school building. Clovercroft Elementary, Franklin High and Spring Station Middle will be digitizing their visitor sign in process with a small kiosk in the schools’ respective front offices.

“We’re excited about going paperless and making processes more accessible to parents,” said Franklin High Administrative Assistant Helen Gatlin. “It will also enhance the security measures taken providing visual documentation of who is on campus at all times.”

The new procedure will require visitors to submit all the information previously required of visitors. In addition, they must also take a picture of themselves using the stand’s camera and provide basic information about their vehicle. If beneficial, this program will be integrated into schools across Williamson County.
