National Merit Semifinalists Announced

Published September 13, 2012

Williamson County Schools has set a new district record for the number of National Merit Semifinalists.  Three dozen Williamson County students received the honor this year.

Of the nearly 1.5 million entries, only 16,000 students nationwide earn this prestigious honor annually.  These students are eligible for the 8,300 National Merit Scholarships that will be offered next spring.

In order to become a semifinalist, high school students must score well on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test and meet other high standards set forth by the program.
