Franklin High Band Receives Governor's Cup Trophy

The Franklin High School Marching Band can toot its own horn! This month, Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam presented the group with the coveted Tennessee Governor's Cup. The presentation took place February 13 on the steps of the Tennessee Capitol Building.

The trophy was given to the FHS band after they were named Grand Champion at the 51st annual Contest of Champions at Middle Tennessee State University. The Contest of Champions is the longest consecutive running marching band competition in the country.
