Fairview High Receives $4,500 Grant

The Fairview High School campus will soon get a make-over. The school was recently named a recipient of the $4,500 Lowe's Toolbox for Education school grant.
The money will be used to overhaul and beautify the flagpole and walkway in front of the school. This will include removing the existing shrubs and concrete walkway, which will be replaced with a new stone walkway, a pergola and several new flower beds which will be cared for by the school's greenhouse classes.
“Lowe’s is committed to recognizing and supporting efforts that enrich the lives of our neighbors and customers,” said Marshall Croom, chairman of Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation. “By supporting schools like Fairview High School, we know we are contributing to a cause that’s important to our customers and employees and helping build stronger communities.”
All of the new construction will be done by Fairview High students, and the project is scheduled to be completed by May 15, 2014.
