Dress 4 Success Day at Independence High

Published November 29, 2012

The Independence High School DECA chapter recently organized a school-wide Dress 4 Success Day as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week. On November 14, students put on their most professional business interview attire and wore it to school for the day.

Teachers and students voted on the best dressed male and female students for each grade. The winners were awarded prizes from Belk and Men's Wearhouse at CoolSprings Galleria. Each female won a Taylor Swift 'Wonderstruck' fragrance from Belk and each male won a silk tie from Men's Wearhouse.

Although this is the first time this year that Dress 4 Success Day has been extended to the entire school, Marketing Teacher Wren Anderson said this is something her students have been doing on a regular basis.

"My marketing students have a Dress 4 Success Day once a month," said Anderson. "This helps them learn what is appropriate to wear to job interviews and even to fill out job applications."
