District's New INVEST NOW Initiative Program a Hit

Published January 24, 2013

It's only been a few weeks but Williamson County Schools new INVEST NOW program is already making a difference. WCS launched the initiative December 19 as a fast and easy way for parents, business leaders and community members to support our schools.

"Investments from all over the county continue to come in as everyone becomes more aware of the program," said Dr. Deb Enright, who oversees program development. "A few schools have already used the tool to help their community meet an immediate need."

Investing is easy. Just go to INVEST NOW and choose the way in which you wish to contribute to your school or district.

Grant Writing Seminar

INVEST NOW isn't the only way for parents to contribute. More than two dozen members of WCS parent teacher organizations are taking part in a series of grant writing seminars hosted by the PTO Leadership Council and the district. These full day seminars will introduce parents to grant writing in an effort to seek alternative funding sources for schools.

"We look forward to adding this tool to our fantastic parent teacher organizations in their efforts," said Enright. "WCS continues to be inspired by the willingness of our parents to help us do the very best we can for our students."
