Brentwood High Receives Environmental Award
Published February 7, 2013
Students at Brentwood High School can breathe easier knowing they're making a difference when it comes to the environment.
The school's environmental education program was presented with an Outstanding Clean Air Partner Award January 31 by the Clean Air Partnership of Williamson and Rutherford Counties. BHS Science Teacher Doug Anderson and Principal Kevin Keidel were on hand to accept the award.
The Clean Air Partnership of Williamson and Rutherford Counties credits the BHS environmental education program for going above and beyond in its commitment to environmental excellence.
According to the organization, BHS students have positively impacted their environment by working with the City of Brentwood to plan the Environmental Education Day at Deerwood Arboretum, operating the school's recycling program and removing invasive plant species from Warner Park Nature Center.
