Best Buddies Prom 2013
Published March 7, 2013
February 17 was a night to remember for dozens of Williamson County students as they attended the Best Buddies Prom in Nashville.
Now in its third year, the Best Buddies Prom was created to give students with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to take part in this significant teenage milestone.
At Centennial High School in Franklin, 38 students gathered the night of the prom for a pizza party before heading to Bridgestone Arena for the main event.
Upon their arrival, guests received the star treatment as they walked the gold carpet before entering the arena floor by way of the famous Pred Head. The Jumbotron even featured a live video feed of the action on the dance floor throughout the evening.
In addition to the students from Centennial High, other Best Buddies Chapters attending the evening were from Brentwood, Franklin, Independence, Ravenwood and Summit high schools. Select this LINK to watch a video of the event courtesy of the Nashville Predators.
Best Buddies is non-profit organization that aims to create opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
