Adult Education Program
Published August 2, 2012
The mission of the Williamson County Adult Education program is to provide educational opportunities to adult learners, ages 18 and older who are not enrolled in school.
The Adult Basic Education portion of the program works with students to achieve the GED Diploma. Last year approximately 150 students earned their GED. The program also introduces adult students to post-secondary education and training through partnerships with WorkForce Essentials, Tennessee Technology Centers and the Tennessee Department of Labor.
The ESOL program teaches English to adult international students. EL Civics classes introduce ESOL students to American culture and customs and teach skills needed to work with local government, school and community agencies enabling them to be better parents and community members.
All of the Williamson County Adult Education classes are free and available days or evenings. A brief orientation class is required. Classes are open to anyone 18 years or older who is not currently enrolled in school. To make an orientation appointment, call Jody Kammerud at 472-4075.
