Published May 17, 2013

Five Williamson County students recently received scholarships from the ACE Mentor Program of Greater Nashville. Recipients included Matthew Rutledge and Andrew White from Franklin High, Allison Bosarge from Independence High, Lucas Mendl from Page High and Daniel O’Reilly from Ravenwood High.

ACE Mentor is an after school program that partners students with mentors from design and construction companies to give students a taste of what its like to work in those fields.

The scholarship is awarded to students who are active participants of ACE Mentor and exhibit strong leadership. The applicants were required to submit an essay to ACE along with teacher and mentor recommendations.

“ACE has not only taught me how to work well with other people, but it also helped me learn about the different aspects of the industry, including the parts I like and didn’t like," said Bosarge. "That ultimately helped me decide what I want to do with my life which is to be an interior designor.”
