Autumn Johnson - Nolensville Elementary School

Nolensville Elementary School Fifth Grader Autumn Johnson is the kind of student who leads by example, always giving 100 percent and always treating others with kindness and respect. That's why administrators at Nolensville Elementary School say she's the perfect choice for this year's Academic All-Star.

"Autumn is a dedicated and hard-working student," said Principal Ryan Harris. "Her effort and positive attitude serve as wonderful examples for her peers and teachers. Autumn excels not only when working alone but also when working as a part of a group."

Autumn has attended Nolensville since kindergarten and says she likes the school because of the great teachers and students.

"I like this school because everyone is so friendly," said Autumn. "You don't have bullying and the teachers are nice. It's almost like a family."

Autumn's favorite subject is social studies because she enjoys learning about the history of Tennessee. She is also a member of the Cardinal Council which helps coordinate school activities and charitable causes.

When she's not in school, Autumn enjoys reading, playing softball and coming up with her own clothing designs. "I want to be a fashion designer when I grow up," said Autumn. "I really like clothes and I like to draw clothes."

In the meantime, she says she'll continue to work hard at getting a good education. "I think it's important to take your education seriously because you'll definitely need it when you grow older," said Autumn. "I think school is really important."
