Cameron Cartee - Oak View Elementary School

Cameron Cartee is known throughout Oak View Elementary School as a hardworking student with a positive attitude toward learning. That's why he was recently selected as Oak View's Academic All-Star for the 2012-13 school year.

"Cameron's enthusiasm for learning is conveyed every day when he comes into my classroom with bright eyes and a handsome smile," said Fifth Grade Teacher Debbie Gaidos. "Not only is Cameron a great student; he is also a great person. I am proud of the young man I see in Cameron and I look forward to learning about all of the wonderful things he will continue to accomplish through his hard work, enthusiasm and dedication."

Cameron has attended Oak View since kindergarten and says he's made a lot of friends over the years. His favorite subject is social studies because he enjoys learning about history, especially the Civil War.

When he's not in school, Cameron likes to play outside and spend time with his two younger brothers, Kolton and Dalton, who also attend Oak View. He also enjoys building objects with Legos, which could serve him well in the future since he might like to be an engineer when he grows up and design fast cars.

In the meantime, Cameron says he'll continue to study hard and do well in school. "I think education is very important," said Cameron. "When you do well in school it can take you a long way in life."
