Williamson County Schools has hired veteran educator Melissa Dufrechou to be the district's new Fine Arts Specialist. She will oversee the curriculum of all fine arts courses in grades K through 12.
Dufrechou comes to Williamson County with seven years of experience in education, having taught music in the Rutherford County, Metro-Nashville and Tuscaloosa, Alabama school districts.
She earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of Alabama, and her Master's degree from Auburn University. She has also served as an adjunct professor at Fisk University.
Dufrechou will start her new position May 30 and says she's excited to meet her new colleagues in Williamson County.
"It is an honor to be part of the WCS Fine Arts Department," said Dufrechou. "There is truly an energy in the county to promote arts education and inspire the minds, hearts and spirits of the students. I look forward to continuing the development of a rigorous, inventive and meaningful curriculum that reaches the diversity of students in our schools."
